Description :
Tridec-2-Enenitrile (also known as 2-Tridecenitrile, CAS No. 222629-49-8) is a transparent to pale yellow liquid nitrile that has linear C-13 chains and unsaturated bonds in the 2-position. It has a smoky but distinct aroma that is frequently described as citrus-like, somewhat green, and aldehydic. It is used for its perfuming properties and also as a chemical intermediary for speciality synthesis. It's insoluble in water, but it is soluble in organic solvents, like esters and alcohols. This makes it suitable for fragrance formulations as well as for use in R&D laboratories.
Utilised as a fragrance base material, Tridec-2 Enenitrile gives refreshing citrus-aldehydic notes that help to enhance the top and green notes in fragrances, colognes and personal care scents.
It is used as a base to prepare special chemicals, agrochemicals, and research intermediates. It benefits from the nitrile reactive functional group as well as unsaturation.
Applied in fragrance R&D, analytical chemistry, and lab synthesis, where long-chain nitriles are required for developing new compounds or testing aromatic blends.
Wear gloves, goggles, and protective clothing when handling concentrated Tridec-2-Enenitrile.
Use in well-ventilated areas or under fume hoods to avoid inhalation of vapours.
Store in tightly sealed containers in a cool, dry location, away from oxidizing agents and ignition sources.
Avoid prolonged skin contact; wash immediately with water and soap if exposed.
Consult the full MSDS for toxicological data and emergency measures.
