Scientists and chemists are constantly looking for new synthetic acid compounds and methods to increase efficiency, reduce environmental effect, and ensure safety in their production and use. The extensive usage of synthetic acids, however, has brought environmental and health issues. Improper disposal and release into ecosystems can contaminate soil and water, endangering both human health and the environment.
